Emiliano has over 30 years of experience working on ecosystem development around the world. Emiliano recently retired from the World Bank where he served for almost 10 years as Lead Private Sector Specialist, at the Global Markets & Technology Unit of the Finance, Competitiveness and Innovation Global Practice.
Before joining the bank, he was in the faculty of the IESE Business School, as Director of its Competitiveness Summer School and Coordinator of the European Union’s Cluster Excellence Initiative, and CEO of The Cluster Competitiveness Group. He was founding chairman of The Competitiveness Institute.
Previously he served as Trade Commissioner of Spain in Baghdad and Helsinki. He has a degree in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), and a dual MPA / MBA from Harvard University.
Emiliano worked as a private sector development specialist at the World Bank for over 10 years. His work was published in various forms including blogs, informational videos, and formal reports. A selection of the materials that he published or led are provided below.
